You don't have a People problem...
The Predictive Index
You have a Predictability problem
When Interview Skills don't match unobserved behaviors
My client was looking for a very social & high energy salesperson. They wanted someone that would not tire of people & conversations & prospecting. They thought they found the match. UNTIL, we used the Predictive Index to identify the blind spots after their behavior based interview! Turns out, the candidate had very polished soft skills & found it easy to communicate with energy during an interview. What we uncovered with The Predictive Index was 3 deviations of variance on the extrovert/introvert characteristic. Sure they could do the job, but at the end of the week they were DONE with people! The risk was “May be drained by heavily social activities”
Would they have made a good sales rep? Perhaps. BUT - they were at risk of stress & burnout from the highly social job over time. Their natural & adaptive behaviors where too far apart. My client realized that they wanted to find someone that would get energized by meeting people, not drained.
I wish we used The Predictive Index when our kids were teenagers!
The first team I designed during my PI Certification was the Bandt Family. My first use of the relationship guide was with two of our kids. What amazed Julie & I was how accurate The Predictive Index described their Relationship Traits & Cautions. If we had the Relationship Tips 8 years ago, our parenting advice would have been so much better!
In a professional setting, my clients say the same thing! We are able to observe behaviors & interview for intentions, but adding a scientific layer of natural traits, beliefs and behaviors makes ALL the difference!
